We have several jobs that are certified, but some of the Cost Codes are not. We have the Certified? indicator in our import file. However, if the job is marked Certified, then the Import Time function overrides our flag and marks the time as Certified.

It would be extremely beneficial if the Import Time function did not override the flag in the import file. Or, as suggested on another idea, the Cost Code can be marked as non-certified even if the job is certified.

  • Cheri K, I have worked with several customers in this situation. The solution in the system as is: on the Scope / PR tab in Job Cost, set the Payroll daily entry control to "Non-certified job, allow daily entry." With this, it does not automatically check the cert box, so it will use the field as set in the import file. You just have to be careful if you are manually entering time to those jobs as you will need to check the box.

Also, you may have reports or formulas conditioned to use that JC field, so you would have to adjust those as well.

Overall, it has been a great solution for customers in your situation.

If you have any questions about this, feel free to email me.

  • We have jobs that are certified jobs and employees who work on site (certified) and off site (not certified) for those jobs. When we import the time, we mark the line items as "Y" for all certified time and "N" for a non certified time but the system changes the line items to certified that are NOT certified.

  • Is this for Sage 300 CRE? I do not find a Scope tab.

  • I found it.
