I have recently taken over the task of cleaning up the inventory data for our company, and over time, employees have inadvertently created multiple part numbers for the same item. There may be an ABC123, an ABC-123, an ABCi23, and an ABC-i23 for the same item. And over time, inventories of each permutation of a part number will have found their way into many inventory locations. One truck may find its inventory having four of an item with four different part numbers assigned to them. I would like to have a way to merge several P/Ns into one correct P/N without the ardor of having to manually delete the quantities of the incorrect P/Ns and re-add the correct P/Ns for those locations. If there were only a couple of these incorrect P/Ns and only a few locations over which they were spread out, it would not be much trouble to manually do it. But I've found many incorrect P/Ns in many locations, so a way to merge them all into on P/N would be wonderful. Harvey Riddle, Tech Systems inc.
