At the very least, we should have the choice of which date is used. My payroll clerk entered the wrong year for the check date on the first two weeks of payroll. Now we have to void/reprocess over 600 checks!!! I had no idea that the check date was that important. Everything else keys off of the week ending date.

The check date is the accounting date. If the check date falls within the calendar year it is included in the W2 gross wages. This would also effect your quarterly reports. You definitely do not want payroll to update based on week ending.
