Export to Excel in previous versions went right to an Excel file which was one of the best enhancements Sage has made. It was quick and easy, especially when numerous inquiries were done. In version 20, downloads are now required to be saved which is more cumbersome. Please go back to the way it was before or give us the option to turn off this save feature.

Totally agree! While I'd love to have it export right into an .xlsx format, this "enhancement" has just added an additional step for those of us who don't want it. There are at least five people in my office who noticed, and had negative reactions, immediately.
I agree that we are now being forced to save inquiries. Please go back to the old way before version 18.4.1
They were automatically being saved in your data files as excel, so of you were never using them again they were taking up space. I would have to periodically go in and delete them so they were not part of my back up files. I now appreciate that it goes outside of Sage. I do wish you could just view and not have to save to a location though. I just save to my desktop until I decide if I need it for later usage.
This is a huge downfall in changes. Once again Sage is behind the times. Change it back.
I save my AP bank files so having the Excel was something I did anyway... but please use a more current version! Excel 97! Come on! Once saved... every time I open or send to someone else... Corruption Error message so I have to RE-SAVE it again under current Excel version and then go delete the Excel 97 version - thus twice the work!
We've had a few inquiries in our office as to why this changed. We appreciated the file being saved in a download folder where we could move it if we wanted to keep it, but scrap the contents of the download folder periodically to save space. Can you please change it back to opening right away and not having to save it?
This has become a real frustration for myself and many of my team. I have to work with multiple exports with different filters of the same date to first save the temp file and then to save to location with a name change is very very problematic. V20 was supposed to make things more efficient but instead in many respects it is regressive. very disappointed! Please fix this or provide the option to disable this security feature.
I'd like to suggest that if they "Put it back to the way it was" to have a file location in settings where we can default these temporary files so they are not stored in the data folder. I think that was the original gripe.
Agreed. We used to use this feature all the time, but now we go without because it has become so cumbersome. Please give the users an option to turn it off. Thanks.
