Since some businesses do not close their fiscal year-end in January this option will be helpful for reports to provide a more accurate job cost total. Right now, January entries of the new year are located in the current data file instead of the new data file. When running cost entries by job or entries by job selecting the new data file reflects all entries other than January to current date. To include January entries, you must select the current data & new data file to obtain costs for entries in the new year. The current data folder reflects December entries of the previous year and new entries for January in the new year. In my opinion, if you haven't rolled forward with closing your fiscal year-end date all entries created in the new year should be in the new data file awaiting to be posted.
