Any employer that is required to withhold money from an employee's paycheck per court order and forward the money to the court repetitively could save time (would not have to cut weekly checks or wire money weekly to the court). It would be convenient if the payment to the court could be made part of the direct deposit function when doing payroll processing. By setting up in the payroll module a deduction with a deduction type of direct deposit, a deduction could then be set up on the employee set up. In addition to the bank routing number and account number, a remittance ID and/or other identifying information needs to be provided along with the payment so that the court can identify who the payment relates to. The courts usually have one bank account with many unrelated deposits going into it. The part that is missing to be able to do this is an input section on the employee deduction direct deposit screen where the identifying information can be entered. This information then needs to be added to the upload file to the bank when using direct deposit for payroll. That way the court will see the information next to the deposit in their bank account, and the employee receives the proper credit.
