The payroll check format is very limited. We do not print checks on pre-printed stock but use Create a Check to print payroll checks. Create a Check is no longer being supported or upgraded. We need the ability to create a custom format in Crystal Reports for printing payroll checks.

• We went to crystal report payroll checks years ago. But a crystal report paycheck has to be generated from the Current File. This means the checks have to be posted before you can print them. But our PR is fairly complicated and it takes about 5 custom formulas to get all the info we need to show on the paycheck. I agree the current canned Sage payroll check format is a joke.

• We just switched from Create a Check to PrintBoss. not sure about the crystal reporting piece, but check formatting was much easier and PrintBoss support was much better
