Add a link to a picture file (*.jpg, *.bmp,etc.) for the item in IC Item

  • This could be VERY powerful. One could fairly easily create simple part catalogs for publication through Crystal. It could also make web store maintenance much simpler, if the item list in the store just queries the current IC Items table and displays picture/thumbnail automatically.

  • allow an easy import from the Misys picture Link field when this is added to I/C.
    Also create a yes/no drop down in the Item Master to specify 'Auto Print with orders'? so that a picture (or part dwg) will print automatically when an order is printed. Or create this functionality elsewhere in the OE realm.

  • Yes but to be practically useful Accpac would need to show a copy of that picture in the master item screen, and optionally in most of the PO / OE transaction screens. So gets rather technical I suspect.
    Also, crystal has limitations regarding linked pictures.

  • Ops Inquiry (now bundled free with Accpac) has a picture view function (strangely hidden on the Units tab). Ops Inquiry was inherited from a third party ap but now is core business. Time to migrate this image function into to the mainstream screens.

  • we've been using the image linking under the "Units" tab for years. it works great. If your users aren't using ItemInquiry as a bible, then they are missing out. we also altered the crystal files to print the images on our order confirmations for the warehouse staff to confirm they are pulling correct products.

  • I just found the item image, user actually need to enable in the Setup prior to use that function.
