This request is for Serialized Inventory

We have a client who frequently needs to disassemble and then re-assemble the same master item and serial number and is unable to do so, as the system sees the "re-assembly" as a duplicate use of the same serial number and doesn't allow that. Accpac needs to allow re-assembly of disassembled serialized master items.

The business scenario is this: the client will accept returned products from customers, disassemble them, do work on the components or even replace the components, and then re-assemble the master item, which still has the same serial number. Their only workaround options in Accpac are to assign a different number for the second build, renumber the original serial, or delete the SI history and delete the original serial. None of these gives them the full history of a serial they require.
