Provide a web interface to allow users to access Accpac directly from any Internet Browser without any installation required (no ActiveX controls)

Accpac v6.0 will be introducing the new web interface.
Due to today's complex & competitive business environment this functionalty is required almost all business heads. Very good to have this in Accpac.
This should be coupled with another suggestion: Allow users to be in more than one company at a time without taking up multiple lanpaks. This allows for AP clerks and OE/AR clerks to work faster.
This functionality is in the current version, but the key is 'directly from any browser without any installation required'. Please, please do that for v6.
Browsers are a poor data entry interface. I have seen a high frustration level from users of browser based accounting software (eg LAWSON).
Browsers can work as a data entry interface when they are fully keyboard compliant: a logical order of controls PLUS keyboard accelerators for every control.
It's all about forcing the developers to spend three days typing invoices into the fruits of their own design. That'll help the design process considerably.
This is also true for other browser-based systems, including service desk or call centre systems.
v6.0 will be based on the Google Web Toolkit, providing an AJAX type browser interface. This provides all the benefits of "rich" windows UI, but without any client side installation (no ActiveX controls)
I hope v6 is going to work for ANY browser.
Users might be able to run it in almost any browser, although for Version 6.0 specifically, Sage will only support Microsoft Internet Explorer v7 and v8. Starting version 6.1, we will support other browsers like Firefox.
Since its built in GWT, it should be browser standards compliant. i.e. work in most browsers.
IT is important, that Accpac suport OTHER browsers, rather than IE.
FireFox and Chrome are more widely used than IE, not to mention that a lot of IT Managers do not want to run IE at all due to all the security flaws.
We have had a few requests this week for Sage Accpac and Sage CRM to be fully accessible from any browser on any platform without any instalation required.
What happened to getting Sage 300 (Accpac) to be browser based. Microsoft GP, SAP B1 are now broswer based but it looks like Accpac has scraped their development of this. This is a real draw back for us as we use google chrome books and thin clients which can only use browser based technology. WE can run it through citrix but chrome OS doesnt support it. CRM already works through a browser so it is halfway there already. We were sold this software on the premise that this is the way it was going!
I guess this has been scrapped. It is so frustrating that the world is passing this software by and it appears that they are doing nothing about it
Sage X3 V7 does this. Sages 300 V2016 still the same-old same-old, if the SA Sage Insights in Feb is anything to go by. Why must our clients pay the 18% per year if Sage intends to serve up the no-changes. If the new version comes out every 18 months or so, surely the ALF should also match this rather slow release with no new ideas. Maybe this ideas website should be taken a lot more seriously, and follow the flag at the top "We are listening". But from experience, not likely.
