It would be very helpful in our industry to have Quotes separated out into another table/UI component. We would like to Quote, then pull Quote into Order, then pull Order into Shipment, then pull Shipment into Invoice and keep all the document numbers separate in separate finders.

Yes, I agree 100%. ALso need to be able to track quote revisions and reasons for won and lost.

I have been asking for this ever since Accpac 4.2.
It is essential to have a security setting to allow users to be able to enter quotes but not orders, shipments or invoices.
100% Agree. This is very frustrating as we need a new feature so that some users can only create quotes (and not promote to orders). Right now any user can change the type from Quote to Active so no separation of duties. Very annoying, also good to fix in Sage 300 INtegrates with Sage CRM. Should work more like submitting a PO requisition vs turning into a PO.
