Once a physical inventory worksheet is created for a location, all transactions against that location should be disabled until the physical inventory is posted.

No, that would prevent further processing until the count is completed. This current design allows for business to continue functioning before the PI is finalized.
Disagree - the business logic of stock counts is specifically designe to ALLOW transactions after stocktakes.
_Maybe_ an optional lock down would be valid, for certain circumstances.
Don't need to do this. Existing method allows business continuation.

A cycle count function with lock down capability would allow business to continue with all items but those being counted. Locking down an entire location wouldn't work for most companies, but preventing further transactions against an individual item record until that item is processed would be very helpful.
