Users do not want to exceed their budget and need to be able to view remaining budget before or at the time of creating a PO rec or PO. If a flag could be held to either allow or disallow exceeding budget. This should also take into account PO's not recvd and be matched within the budget period ideally. However, any matching and alerting would be a big step in the right direction.

  • Going back into the dark ages (Accpac Plus), Inventory Receipts had a budgetting function which worked really well, although separately from the GL.

  • I have written a Crystal report for my clients (only for non stock items though) which brings in any outstanding PO's, and then the GL balance of the account they used for the allocation, as well as the budget available...
