The detail optional fields (OE Order detail as an example), would be better placed in the main grid, rather than having to click the optional field, then to enter or find a value, and then returning to the main grid again....
The Smart Order Entry product from years ago had this and it worked well.
Eg, Layout as follows
Item, Qty, Desc, UP, Optional F1, Optional F2 etc etc

I agree with Mark, we need to improve optional field to a level where it is user-friendly and practical. currently, it's not data entry friendly at all especially the detail grid optional field
Agreed, would be much simpler for data entry, especially purchasers for my company.
Ofcourse, when a company using OF heavily on almost every transaction, selecting from a different grid is quite time consuming. Adding in the same grid would be really a better idea.
I Agree that being given the option of adding optional fields to the grid in both the Desktop and Web UI would be ideal. We have used Orchid Extender and a custom script to add to the Desktop UI grid but it cost the clients thousands of dollars, but they needed it for every transaction. It would be great if is was just able to do this out of the box. and in Web UI and CRM (old CRM Sage 300 screens let you do it) but now with the Sage 300 Web UI can't anymore in CRM. So not ideal. Please add.
