The result of this is it makes it near impossible to create a meaningful Item valuation report based on date, as to get the conversion UOM back to stocking UOM needs a reference to the ICUNIT table.
And yes, client enducation not to do this is one arguement, but the integrity of the data (or more to the point, the reporting of) is comprimised when a staff member unwittingingly modifiies the UOM.
If the conversion unit was recorded at the time of the transaction in ICHIST, then it would be possible to create a meaningful Item Val report based on date.

I agree wholeheartedly. We need to add either the qty in stocking unit of measure or a conversion factor for the UOM to the ICHIST table.
