Very good idea. Would be even better to allow sort by any column. With increases in direct deposits and direct debits, you often don't know which reference information will appear on the bank statement. Need to be able to sort by Cheque number, date, amount, reference, description, payee/payor, and probably some others.
It would also be good to be able to temporarily hide transactions from the display to help searching for the one you're looking for. (eg hide cleared transactions, show only specified transaction types, etc)
Over a year ago this idea was submitted and nothing happened. shameful.
