Add additional fields to add multiple contact persons per vendor and per customer

Comments

  • Including multiple emails AND the facility to select the contact person at the time of printing / mailing any document.
e.g. The statements go to accounts person 1, Invoices to another accounts person, order confirmations to the buyer etc.

  • Override at time of printing, but there should be defaults. A grid listing all contacts and a toggle for each type of document/module/etc. We don't want to slow down the standard printing process any more than necessary.

  • Add a contact type, accounting (AP-AR), operations...number of contacts by customer/vendor s/b unlimited, current functionality on contacts is very old school.

  • I would add to this a request to expand the email address field, as we have customers who want all invoices to be emailed to as many as 4 different email addesses. The current field is too short to fit multiple addresses - a much larger field would be appreciated.

  • Agree with unlimited list - continue to use the seperate tab with Contact data, grid in it.
Agree would be very godd to link to doc type for emailing - default, can over-ride at print time.
Consider muliple email address fields for each contact, if fille din then any email to that contact goes to ALL addresses

  • muliple email address fields for each contact, if fille din then any email to that contact goes to ALL addresses. WE

  • The Key Communications module from Pacific Technology provides a lot of the functionality requested above e.g. multiple contacts for customers and vendors, the ability to nominate which documents get e-mailed to which contacts, etc.

  • Basic functionality like this should be available in Accpac than from third party solutions

  • Many vendors require to send payment notification to multiple recipients, e.g. cash department, A/R department, accounting department, and the manager/owner. Multiple email address fields is needed.

  • Yea this would be SUPERB!!!

  • The ideal setup would be in the customer tab have another saying contacts with the name and email address. Then in Order Entry there would be a drop down box choosing the purchaser and then it would email the confirmation to that person chosen. WOW!! I have thought about this for a long time.

  • There is a free Contact Manager product from Dingosoft which allows you to attach multiple contacts to customers / vendors. Very powerful - even lets you Skype contacts from within Sage 300. Available through Sage business partners. It was developed to be used with their Trust Accounting module, but they have made it available to anyone who wants it. See http://youtu.be/djL0I5A_00c

  • When will this be implemented?

  • This is a great feature, however, these contacts need to be protected some how when integrated with CRM. One challenge we currently have in CRM is that if a CRM user changes information for an Accpac contact it then updates Accpac automatically, and in "some" cases that is not what you want. It is too easy, maybe make the ability to change Accpac contacts a user security switch - that is just one thought off the top of my head, but something needs to be put in place to better manage this integration feature. I realize this might be considered a CRM update, but if you implement this update it will further complicate the integration issue - which is why I mention it here.

  • Great and overdue.
    When is it planned for?

  • When is this going to be implemented? This is a basic basic requirement for any ERP system and Sage always lets us down in the basics department.

  • Some times it is the "little things" the results results in success or failure ...closing the deal. Men fall over pebbles not mountains.... this should not be that difficult to implement.

  • That would solve having the email address field length which was designed too short at 50 char.

  • Additional contacts with CRM integration is needed

  • A child table holding these contacts would be best. The ability to flag a contact as the main contact for each Sage 300 user or for all users.

  • essential in a modern ERP. there seem to be 2 or 3 other ideas that are basically the same idea. gives this idea 100's of votes now.

  • It could be a very good feature for mid level B2B business model. For B2B it is essential to have scope to place the Order by contact person of a business house. I know its a part of CRM. But for order process management its is require. Mid level business may not spend their IT budget on both Sage 300 and Sage CRM.

  • Hi Sage, well done for getting this over the line in the 2020 release.
    Please mark this as complete.

  • Glad we now have multiple contacts with 2020 PU1. However... Contact Name and Position do not show on the contact listing. I've already had several clients ask how they change the display to include the contact's name and position.
Displaying email address only doesn't make the list of contacts very effective.

When there are many contacts per customer, having to open each contact to find a specific contact is frustrating. E.g. each customer has a Property Manager, a Maintenance Manager, a Regional Manager and an Office Manager and the user cannot tell which listing is for which person...
