Currently there is the post code field in A/P and A/R - National Accounts / Customers / Ship To Locations / Vendors / Remit To Locations. This field is just a blank field. Lots of clients are requesting that this becomes a lookup field whereby they can select from a validated list of post codes - you may want to make this an option as to weather you force validation or not like IC UOM codes, or you may want to put the validation flag on a group or account set level instead to give a bit more flexibility.

Then let us upload all of the relevant post codes for a region into a setup table that turns the Post Code field on the master record into a lookup box.

A lot of solutions have this feature and its a bit of a pain that Accpac doesn't have this.

  • Agreed, instead of having to type in city and state have these fields populate when you enter a ZIP code.

  • Country specific, of course. For example, Aussies dont give a rats arse about US Zip codes.

  • If this feature is added, it should either be country-specific or admin must have the ability to turn the feature off. The validation list can become cumbersome & impractical if you are selling to many customers world-wide.

  • agree that you should be able to turn it on or off but most of our competition has had this functionality for a long time, it's quite simple to implement and a real bug bear with our clients. It's one of those little things that they see as a real pain in the backside.

  • Validation or completion of City/State, or province would help. But yes keeping it up to date would have to be address by a web site link/synch or import into database.
