When running a report (eg: inventory movement report), I mostly do this for a single inventory item at a time and it wastes a lot of my time to have to enter the same inventory code into both the starting and ending inventory code fields. I would like to be able to type the inventory code I require into the first "from" field and then press a shortcut key (eg: F6) to automatically copy this code into the "to" field to replace the ZZZZZZZZ that shows. If this is not possible, I would like an option somewhere to make the "to" field default to what is typed into the "from" field instead of defaulting to ZZZZZZZZ. This would apply to all reports where a range has to be selected like the account movement report in the GL module or any of the accounts receivable reports.

  • MISys and Technisoft Service Manager both have this so it is possible and it would be very useful to have it in Accpac itself.

  • Yes. It is needed in every report.

  • Also needed to repeat details from line above on any grid detail entries. For example when entering PJC transactions, the contract, project and category and have to be retyped on every line.

  • Have a look at Technisoft Service Manager for a good idea re this - a sinlge button between the tow fields, click it and the From gets propagated to the To.

  • How long does it take to implement such an efficient method?? I remember suggested this on version 1.0

  • PFW did this for all From/To entries with Ctrl + R along with a shortcut button. It also automatically show the "To" as blank but would equal the last entry available. Considering 300 has way more fields that can be entered this would make things a lot faster.
