It is time consuming to have to get to an item that is somewhere in the middle of a batch listing because you can only scroll by (the equivalent of) pages. I may have a guess as to how far up or down it is, but the scroll bar doesn't let you scroll directly to that spot by grabbing the status bar and just moving it.
If you are at the top of the list, it seems like the scroll bar should be at the top. If you are at the bottom of the list, it should be at the bottom.
Minor thing, but I find it annoying.

It is displayed that way because the screens don't load all of the records at once. So if you have a bunch of records and you don't know if you're at the end then you can only be somewhere in the middle. Hence the 'thumb' shows that you're somewhere in the middle.
I'd like to see a function to search within a detail grid.
