This issue is admittedly somewhat complex, and would be challenging to solve due to the number of variables – but some HR systems do handle this. What complicates things even more so is that Statutory Holiday Pay calculations vary from province to province and state to state. In Ontario, Statutory Holiday Pay is calculated as the regular wages for the 4 weeks prior to the week with the public holiday plus all vacation pay earned in that period divided by 20. I am really not sure Accpac can handle this calculation due to the possibility of the holiday falling anytime during the week, there is no clear “count back so many days prior to the stat day” because of this.
