Accpac should drill down from sub ledger transactions to GL. It will be very easy to reconciliation. right now it is very difficult to find the AP and GL entry generated for an OE invoice and even the Posting journal report i will not be able select particular document and see the entries.

ex. from posted invoice i should able to know the AR invoice and then GL entry for the same

  • It would be really good to be able to "drill up" from the detail in each module up to the entry in the GL. This would be very useful from an accounting perspective to be able to follow entries both ways- for reconciling and analysis. Drill ups would be a major time saver just like drill downs are.

  • go to http://www.hwmtech.biz for an excellent solution!!!

  • I can't see why you should have to purchase an external program to have software like Accpac work properly

  • drill down is available on cheaper programs, Sage should invest to get this done

  • A great feature to add to the out-of-the-box suite.
    Either the drill-ups mentioned here, or purchase / recreate one of the better reconciliation tools out there.
    Better yet, both. THey have different application.

  • PS comment above added 27 May 2015.
    And the original suggestion (and the first three comments) - surprise, surprise, "Over a year ago"

  • Just reviving this thread by saying that this is a very useful function so that people can find the GL transactions behind every sub-ledger posted.

  • This will be very handy. At the moment Accpac drill down from G/L to subledger is by Header of the subledger document only. It should be down to the detail line. It will also help for tax tracking in more detail, to be able to show the g/l expense/income accounts and their relevant tax class code.

  • Agreed, a drill up to the GL batch/entry would make searching for transactions from the sub-ledger much less time consuming.

  • It's very useful for this "Drill Up" function.

  • Hey Sage, I agree somewhat that move fast and break things doesn't fit with ERP.

    BUT - wait over 6 years and ignore things, that aint working either.

  • This idea is now well over 6 years old, and as at today has a sweet 100 votes.

    PS the post immediately above was made in November 2019, in case anybody is looking.

    * Anybody?

    * Sage?

    * Helllooooo, Sage? Are you out there?

    Faintly desperate post made 23 Jan 2020
