It would be nice especially when reviewing the GL details, to have the ability to add additional notes / comments to transactions already posted on the GL side. Many times I'm reviewing the general ledger details and would like to add or attach my own notes to specific transactions so that come year-end when the auditors arrive, I can remember why we posted certain transactions and/or make reference to supporting documentation (if required).

This would also be helpful if the original reference was incorrectly entered. Then a notation could be made to that effect and the correct information entered.
This is a wonderful idea.
