I would like to be able to change the Job Status of the entire job to "Completed" without having to change every phase to "completed" first. You can do this for other Job Status changes, but not for completed.

I agree, in adition we have found thatthe contract itself remains completed after reveneue recognition - and we have to go back and manually change it to closed. This processs could be made easier.
I agree. the documentation says that this can be done and it can't. Fix the documentation or preferably fix PJC.
I am also being asked whey do I have to close the phases first in order to close the project. For large projects this is a concern.
I also would like to see a way of changing all of the phases at the same time you change the project status. You have the option to "Open" all phases when you open a project so it would make sense that you can do the same when closing or completing. I close anywhere from 5 to 30 projects at a time with 4 to 5 phases in each project. This is very tedious and time consuming.
