PJC Basic Contract is the more relaxed type of contract. So it should be easier to post operational transactions against existing jobs withut having to assign all categories in advance in each project. Companies that have many labor types and use Timecards are currently required to insert every possible labor type category in each project phase so that their timecard uses have access to them. It would be simpler to allow an option to allow unassigned categories and they would added to the contract/project only if selected via operational transactions such as timecards. This would make the creation and maintenance of the contract easier while reducing wasted space from unused categories.

Most definitely!
Also...default resource unit costs (e.g. equipment) aren't referenced when entering a transaction against a basic project, forcing the user to enter the unit cost every time. Currently you can only specify where default costs should come from (resource setup or project estimate) on basic projects for payroll. There should be similar settings for non-payroll resources as well
