The Finder needs to be fixed so that a MS-SQL database may be set to Case Sensitive, and the Finder remains case insensitive. The migration from Pervasive.SQL to MS-SQL almost always means a data repair, due to multiple UOM (ea, EA, Ea) on the same item in inventory. In addition, even with using the UOM Table to verify, it may be possible for a user to introduce the same problem in MS-SQL databases. Currently, to have the Finder work correctly, you need a case insensitive database. However, it would still appear that a user can type ea for a UOM adding a new item, even if the UOM Table has EA. The conversion from Pervasive though is time consumming, andf costly - to both clients and business partbners. The solution seems to be in changing the Finder, not the database.

  • Agreed. We were pleased when the UOM database table was added, but we can't use it because users can still type a UOM in lower case even if the UOM table is all uppercase
