Right now, it's all or nothing. All allowed negative quanties, or none.
I totally love the idea of being able to restrict sales of items when there is no stock in the system. Keeps inventory and costing must more accurate.
However, we should be able to enter orders for any active item regardless of how much is in stock/committed. We have items that are 'imprinted (personalized) ' and packaged as each order arrives. We do not create a PO for it - rather we need to assemble it once the order has been produced.
We may not otherwise carry regular stock of this item. We may consider making it non-stock, but you loose some of the basic tracking and history by doing this.

You can always enter orders for items which are not in stock. What is the issue here?
