To be able to seperate payroll to certain groups, security options and selection lists are available in all payroll reports and modules accept for EFT. EFT is wide open, an employee can lookup information on all employees, thereby killing the attempt of using security to limit which AccPac user can see information on which employee.

The same security and selection lists should be applied to all the EFT reports and modules otherwise you can't really have per user security in payroll. The fact that those security options are available everywhere else seems to be a glaring oversight by sage.

  • I don't use Employee Level Security but I do need to keep non-payroll users out of EFTs. The real problem is that the BK module receives detailed EFT entries instead of a consolidated entry for the file. This makes no sense since the bank statement will only show a single line anyway. The way around it for us was to use Norming Bank Security and set up a dummy bank code for payroll, which posts to a clearing account.
