I would like to see in OPS INQUIRY under the QTY AVAIL the calculation based upon what I see.
What I see now is TOTAL QUANTITY ON HAND = +341, QUANTITY AVAILABLE = -2769.
Accpac 5.6A currently does not have the ability to synthesyze inventory on order and scheduled sales order releases, based on arrival dates keyed in the PO module and ship dates keyed in the OE module and provide meaningful available quanitites. Based on the data currently keyed in, I need to know now, when I will have a positive available quantity. Currently OPS INQUIRY and all drill downs, a positive quantity only occurs when the last PO is received. This calculation method is not helpful as many of our customers have scheduled releases and inventory is scheduled to arrive accordingly. The problem is the available quantity is always a negative number. It is not difficult to overcome this programing shortfall when only one order is scheduled to ship and one PO is scheduled to arrive. It becomes increasingly frustrating to look at 40 lines of transactions and try to calculate when and how many will be available.
