If a user does not have any security rights to an Accpac module, then that module does not appear on their desktop.

For the number changer modules, this approach does not apply. If a user has no security rights to a number changer module, they still see the main Accpac folder (e.g. GL), then a subfolder (Account Code Change), which is empty.

This is pretty sloppy - and it makes CFO's stress out when they see a data entry user with the GL folder on their desktop.

It would be great if one of the Accpac development team could spend an hour or two to clean this up.

  • As a new Sage 300 customer, we activated the number changer modules. When we made this decision, we understood that Sage security would hide the folder if the user didn't have security to any item in that folder. Found out the hard way that did didn't work. Now we are recreating the system/company databases so we can re-install without these modules. Agree...pretty sloppy.
