We have clients that are a heavy BOM & CRM users.

A big number of their orders have the Kit/BOM field and/or Customers item number needing to be filled in right at quote (or even just at order time) time.

If not, the BOM field cannot be filled in later and the whole line has to be retyped. They have lots of quotes and order with many of these lines and have been on the salemen's case all the time to make sure they pick BOM 1 for in house custom lines, to prevent all the extra work.

They also need customer item numbers to bring up the proper items for many customers when entering orders.

If a new BOM column can't be added to the CRM OE screen is there so we could have any item with a BOM to default to BOM #1? Since Accpac doesn't default, and since you can't change a BOM once it is on an order, these screens don't work for anyone selling assemblies or kits. If there was a default BOM, at least 80% of the orders would be correct.
