This has been suggested before, then moved to the "Completed" list because it is a feature of the Portal Inquiry tool.

However the original request has not been implemented. It is required in all data entry screens and finders in every module. Users and prospects expect all lists in any faintly modern program to work this way. Just adding it to the Inquiry tool is not a solution for the vast majority of Accpac users.

  • Yes! I was very disappointed in the fact that they added this to the portal (which absolutely no one in our company uses) and not in the standard ACCPAC desktop.

  • Yes it was a very bad of them to consider this completed.

There is a technology problem with this that's not Sage's fault. Remember that Sage 300 can cope with high volumes of data. Potentially hundreds of thousands, or millions of records in lists. To re-sort on any columns could introduce performance problems.

Sage 300 also uses the neat method of only grabbing data sets as you scroll down. Again to avoid loading millions of records before the user gets the screen back.

Both of these issues are shown in lesser systems where you see very poor performance with large datasets.

However, all can be resolved if there is the willingness ...

  • at the very least it would be nice to sort the COA form by column headers. I can't imagine that would slow things down too much. THanks for the input!

  • This can be done within Sage 50 and Sage 200 (the supposedly lesser products)

  • This is the major frustration in Accpac. Please please fix a.s.a.p. as part of a Service Pack maybe???

  • The Portal is hard coded to American date formats, so is utterly useless in most countries.
