If you use Serialized Inventory, you will 'Have to' select any one of the provided 'Auto Allocation' options. There is no provision for 'Manual' Allocation of 'Serial Numbers' in IC Setup.
In Shipment, if you select 'Ship All' function, it automatically picks the Serial Numbers as per defined rules. This is a big problem for majority of the users who would first like to 'Pick' and then create a 'Shipment' entry.
At present, you can only select 'Earliest' or 'Latest' items by 'Serial Number', 'Stock Date' or 'Expiry Date'. In all of them, you will at first create a 'Shipment Entry' in the system (which will generate serial numbers for you) and then go and look for those serials. This is not practical as most users would like to select the items first and then enter it in the system. Do you agree?

"Ship-all" should display a single screen to allocate serial numbers for all items on the order, including Kit components.
