IC currently allows override by GL segment for Locations (on the 'Integration' Tab)
The same function would be very useful by Category, offering far more flexible GL control for clients with complex segmentation in their GL.

• Very much agree - first suggested in 2004 and a feature of most competitors.
  Also segment override by customer. Both are requested by our clients regularly.
  The system configuration could be set as to which override takes precedence.

• Another approach rather than focussing on Categories is in OE to include a new column "cost center" or somesuch, with a cost center defaulted either from the customer or Salesperson. Input user can change this cost center if permissions set to allow.
  Setup is therefore in AR custoters and Salepersons
  If segment overrides not set up then column is inactive.
