Put the GL integration with Sub Ledgers back the way they were. It's too confusing and time consuming now to try to figure out what field is required where to ensure the information passes correctly from subledgers to general ledger.

Disagree. The GL integration is the selling point since version 5.4. Previously there was only 1 field for Description/Reference which contain limited information to be shown in GL Transaction Listing. As such, with the new GL integration, more information is able to be disclosed in the GL Transaction Listing. This helps the user to have more information within a glance in the report and they can also export the GL Transaction Listing into Excel for their own analysis purpose.
GL integration with sub ledger should enhance with the Import/Export feature. Even the third party - Norming Asset Management having the feature of Import/Export in their GL Integration. By having the Import/Export feature, those clients with multiple companies only need to setup once and only export from the existing company and import into the new company without going through the same setup again as there are so many transactions type to fill in the information.
