Would it be possible to have a warning message displayed if the cost price is greater than the selling price (IE; making a loss on the product).
It would also be nice to have a line at the bottom of the detail screen that showns the cost, the selling, the profit amount and the proifit %.

Good feature, needs optional control to turn on/ off globally, plus security controls per person to allow / disallow individuals to see costs
I added an idea to add the ability to fire custom code when certain events happen (Order Post, Line Item Insert, Add AR Customer etc.). This would allow custom "validation" rules like you are asking for (SageCRM has these built in btw). Firther to that, "after-post" type events could fire code, allowing code to fire to integrate to other systems, or update some other area of Accpac.
