The portal in 6.0 and in 6.1 (2012) shows all dates in US format (mm/dd/yy) even though the system date is Australian format (dd/mm/yy) and dates in Accpac display correctly as dd/mm/yy.
The logon date, the snapshot as-of dates, and the dates displayed on transactions in the queries all have the same problem.
We have been told by local sage support that the Portal date format is hard coded, though almost every other piece of software on the planet takes it date format from the environment.
Customers in countries that use any other date format simply can not use this. As Sage claims that its products are suitable for use around the world, and the portal was a major focus of the release of Accpac 6, this makes the entire marketing claim for version 6 outside America just plain untrue. If we show or even mention the Portal to prospects either they will see the fault and laugh Sage out of the room, or they wont notice the fault until after buying the product and then sue us.
How could Sage have let a basic blunder like hard-coded date format slip through the first step of development, never mind the last step of QA? How many years has Sage had to rectify this?
