After encountering this issue with a client following an upgrade to v 2012, we were told that the Portal Inquiry tool does not honor GL Security settings, because the tool uses Java and not the business logic of the program. Users who are restricted from accessing ranges of GL accounts or departments will have full access to all GL data via the Inquiry tool if they have access to the GL and the portal. R&D advised this will be added for "consideration" for future releases. This needs to be added, as it is a security hole not documented in the program.
