As of March 16 2016, a good chunk of Customers / New Business are still running Windows Server 2008 R2, aren't they?

Shouldn't we cater to the Market?

  • Windows Server 2008 R2 is supported for Sage 300 2016, please see updated Compatibility Guide.

  • Hi Richard,

    >>Windows Server 2008 R2 is supported for Sage 300 2016, please see updated Compatibility Guide.

I'm going by the "Sage 300 2016 Compatibility guide, Last revised: October 26, 2015" (the latest version as of March 16, 2016). It states that only Windows Server 2012 R2 is supported.

Sage have also confirmed this to be true.

If there is a later version of the Compatibility guide, can you please advise the "last revised" date, or better yet, provide a link via my post at https://sagecity.na.sage.com/sage_partners/f/52/t/95840 for further information?

  • Just checked the Compatibility guide again, but it is the same old version (Last revised October 26, 2015), which states that only Windows Server 2012 R2 is supported.

Requested Richard Jang provide download link for *updated* Compatibility guide.

  • Received updated Compatibility guide from Richard, but it still states Windows Server 2008 R2 is unsupported. Raised to Richard for further explanation.

  • Confirmed with Richard J that Windows Server 2008 R2 is indeed not tested and not supported - "if the problem turns out to be specific to usage of Server 2008 and does not occur with Server 2012 or 2016 then we’re very much limited in our options".
