It would be nice if we can map GL Revenue Accounts from 'AR Account Set' or 'Customer Group', currently we can only set Revenue Account from IC Category/AR Item. However, some people classifies their revenue accounts based on customer types/classes.

12 years of asking and counting. Something competitors do, even within other Sage products. Same idea is suggested on this site a number of times.
@Steve B.: Case in point, even the retired Sage PRO had the ability for companies to recognize revenue by customer through its sales category functionality. Many who migrated from Sage PRO to the so-called "better" Sage 300 were disappointed to find out that something fundamental as this cannot be done in Sage300 where revenue can only be recognized by Item through Item Category. Unfortunately, customers were forced to customize Sage300. There are many ways that this feature can be easily implemented without major overhaul of the business logic.
