Users often want to Reverse Transactions (Bank Services) using the same date as the original transaction. Sage 300 currently populates the Reverse Date with the current date and users often forget to change, or check, that it is the date they want for the reversal. This could lead to issues in the Bank Rec process, and of course the user can not reverse the reversal so the mistake is difficult to correct.

Instead the system should ...
1) Put the Reversal Date "under" the original document date so the user notices it (i.e. Payment Date, Receipt Date, Bank Entry Date, etc.)
2) Leave the Reversal Date blank so the user has to populate it. The user can then see the original document date and think about what date to choose.

Comments

  • This is super critical especially the Malaysia GAF (GST Audit File) does not support reversal of AP Misc. Payment/AR Misc. Receipt with different date from original transaction.

  • This seems to be a gross oversight for Sage. Reversing individual transaction allows user to specify a Reversal Date, however when reversing Multiple Transactions the user should have the ability to select the Reversal Date including using the original transaction date. The fix should be able to apply the rule to all the selected transactions.

  • I'm amazed this hasn't been fixed yet. If you need to reverse a large payroll, there is no way to change the reversal date to the date of the transaction. Then it tells you that you can't reverse the transactions before their effective date. How is this not fixed for multiple transactions?
