1. It needs to have security rights - Some user can Add/Edit/View notes only.
2. The summary page of the notes need to have more details. e.g. It needs to show which which Customer/Supplier/Item the note is for.
3. The notes only need to pop up when user enter/bring up a Customer/Vendor/Item that has notes on it. Currently, the notes pop up on the screen every time on all transactions, even when there's no notes on that master record.

4. Add Security Groups option to View Notes. If this is not selected, Notes program should not appear at all. To some users, Notes are just a confusing nuisance, slow down display or provide information which they should not see.
5. Integrate with Customer and Vendor Comments,eg:
- Notes to include the same fields as Comments
- When entering a Comment, tick a box for it to appear in Notes.
- When entering a Note, tick a box for it to appear in Comments.
we absolutely have to have the ability to turn notes off in a system by company database. Once on in a system it is impossible to turn off again.
Agree with all the above. Also,
- Notes should close with the parent window, e.g. If a Customer note pops up, and the Customers screen is closed, the Notes screen should close with it.
- Docking to parent Window option
- Persistent Notes window position and size settings per user
- Look at how Orchid has done it, their's is working properly at our sites. More and more of our clients are asking us to remove Notes as it more a nuisance than useful.
This idea applies to 300 classic screen as well now. This idea is a number of years old now old but very relevant with Notes being a central feature in the classic screens.
All the ideas here are good, but the CRUCIAL one is to allow an option to DISABLE the notes popping up for some users. It is a major embuggerance that we cannot do so.

Hi Robin, you can turn it off - get the excellent Tairox fast DBTools, as part of the the Partner subscription. Then you can do many delicious things,including simple and safe module deactivation.

The Notes window does not popup if the Sage 300 screen is maximized. Notes about vendors, customers, items, etc will be missed if the window does not popup.
