I want to use GL security to disable a system User from posting into a certain account. I however want him to still have the rights to view reports and do account inquiries. For example the user should be to see the account when he prints the trial balance.

This will help in preventing ledger sub-ledger difference and save a lot of reconciliation time. For example, I have two bank accounts, 1000 and 1010. Both a linked to cashbook as bank-1 and bank-2 respectively.

When Posting a transaction in cashbook, If user picks bank1 and select cashbook option and account as 1010 in details. The account 1010 will be debited in the GL but not debited in the sub-ledger thus leading to ledger sub-ledger difference.

Account security should help prevent this but unfortunately it limits account inquiries and reporting as well.

This will save a lot of reconciliation time.
