When you run the FR through Print Financial Statements – you can work with .xlsx files. I.E. FR does not give the prompt regarding compatibility and saves the spreadsheet.
But when you call FR through the API, using the same .xlsx as was used with Print Financial Statements – it gives the prompt regarding compatibility and will cannot save the spreadsheet.
Does this not imply there is a difference in the way the API works and Print Financial Statements work ? can the features in Print financial Statements not be included in the API ?

I dont think Sage is giving much love to GL FR these days, focus is on Sage Intelligence.
