When creating a journal entry in Sage 300, if one enters a future journal entry date, (a date that has not yet been created in the Fiscal Calendar) currently Sage 300 will currently default the Year/Period to the last known Year/Period in the fiscal calendar. A warning or error message would be helpful for the user to know they have made an incorrect date entry.
