Customers would like to see their payment on the statement, -1000.00 or -273.45 etc. Even printing a receipt to show them the invoices paid doesn't seem to help them.

In Accounts receivable, many, many customers have stated how they do not like our statements. They would like to see their payments on the statement as -1000.00 then the invoices this payment pays. It is an ever ending battle trying to explain that's not the way our system works. Thank you

I agree additional statement type options would be appreciated.
You can choose to use the balance forward statement type which will then print more like your credit card statement or your utilities bill. They would at least see their payments that way, though it still doesn't show where we have applied the payments.
One reason that I don't like this format - if you say made an error by invoicing the customer with the wrong sales person and you need to credit and re-issue the invoice in order to ensure the correct sales person gets their commission, you can see all these internal entries on the balance forward statements as there is no way to flag documents as internal only.
