Currently Sage 300 allows for processing into an inactive location as long as there are existing transactions already existing , the system allows you to process or complete those transactions while the location is in an inactive status.
I am failing to understand what is the logic for allowing this to happen. My understanding is that the purpose of putting a location in an inactive status is so that no activity happens against that location.
An alternative would be to have a check box in O/E Setup and P/O setup that say's allow for processing into an inactive location. By doing so , at least you give the user some control on how to manage this issue.
In our case, we do stock take per location therefore we usually put all locations where stock take is taking place into an inactive status. However, if the system still allows processing into and out of those locations it defeats the pupose of putting it into an inactive status.
