HRMS doesn't account for unemployment taxes paid in one state when an employee moves to another state. Aatrix is bouncing filings back to clients, ho then have to painstakingly figure out what the actual wage base is for filing. However, there isn't a good way to edit this in HRMS to have the Tax Calculation Analysis Report come out correctly.
HRMS needs to look at the wage base toward unemployment in a prior state, and look at the wage base in the new state to figure out whether the maximum wage base has been met for the new state.
Here is some information on carrying forward unemployment from one state to another. Also check with your CPA on staff as well. There are two states (Louisiana and Minnesota) that do not allow the carry forward, but all other states do.
