In the Pervasive version of Estimating we were able to keep our personal Options files stored on the server so that we could access them from where ever on the network and not have to worry if our PC crashed. It's good to have options on the local machine, but we don't usually backup workstations and would prefer not to lose Options to a workstation crash. So, at the very least, personal options files should be automatically backed up to the server. It would be most flexible if there were a way to set a location for personal options files from within the program.

  • Thank you for your suggestion. You bring up a good point. The information that was in the options file is not located here if you are interested in manually backing this information up. C:\Users\[users]\AppData\Roaming\Sage\Estimating [xx.xx].

I will however, create an backlog for this so that we can track this and hopefully incorporate this into a future release

  • Better yet this information should be stored in the SQL database like shared layouts are so if a user has a local computer and a terminal server, they can have their layouts from both environments. It would also help in getting this backed up since most clients environments are not backing this folder up.
