In Pervasive, I was able to select or set a location in the Default takeoff values and select ok. That location would be locked for all future item or assembly takeoffs until you deselected the Item takeoff setting button or changed the location. In SQL, I can set or select a location, but there is no OK box to check. You have to leave the box open in order for your next item or assembly to populate with the location you just set. Leaving the box open, even docked, takes up quite a bit of space. It would be great if it work like Pervasive and you could select ok and close the box, locking the location until you changed it.

If you drag it to the bottom and then click on the pin icon in the upper right hand corner it "hides" the window. When you want to go change it you can just hover over it along the bottom and it will pop back up so that you can make changes. It's actually pretty slick.
Agreed, the behaviour in pervasive was good.
